Big St Charles Motorsports -Lost my ATV....says it was Stolen....
I was just reading the postings about Bob Schultz and Big St. Charles Motorsports....I had not dealt with Bob Schultz but I have had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Big St Charles Motorsports. In Dec 2008 I purchased a 2009 Honda TRX680 ATV. In may, with less than 200 miles and 20 hours on it, it began making transmission and brake noises. Concerned, I took the ATV back to the dealer for obvious warranty work and was told that their was nothing wrong with the ATV. I insisted that there was a problem and they suggested a Honda Rep look at it. They kept my ATV at their shop, waiting for the Rep to come in "any day now" finally in July, the Rep shows up, says the noises the ATV is making are "normal" for that model and that no damage is being done. In fact the noises will only continue to get louder. Not happy with that response, Honda Customer Service was contacted and it was agreed that we would take this ATV back to the dealer it was purchased from and that they would work with us on a trade-in. We arranged to take the ATV in on 7/18/2009. We met with Terry in Finance and our original salesman, Chris (who ** the way is awesome!). Chris brought out a couple of ATVs to look at and test drive. We chose a Yamaha and went inside to complete paperwork. Being that it was Saturday, we were asked to come in Monday to do paperwork as nothing could be done on Saturday afternoon. We agreed and our ATV and the one we would trade for were parked in the service department. We returned on 7/20, filled out paperwork, our bike was appraised ** the finance manager and finance proceeding had begun. I was told to expect a call on tuesday....no call. I received a call on Wednesday...no luck with financing yet, they would call me tomorrow... no call. I call on friday, 7/24 and still no luck but got a couple more places to try. I call on Monday, 7/27 and was told no luck with financing. I tell them we will come get our ATV as soon as possible. My husband goes to the dealership on 7/29 (two days later) and they can NOT find my ATV. They search everywhere for it, it is not there. They say they probably mistakenly sent it to their store in Illinois and will call there tomorrow and let me know. No call from them on Thursday, I call them on Friday, 7/31 and was told they still had not found it yet. On Monday, 8/3/2009 I call and speak again with finance manager and he says, yes he believes my ATV is there and he will get my salesman to call me right back. The next call I get is from the General Manager saying "I'm sorry, you need to call your insurance company, your bike has be stolen". I am beside myself, and insist that he call his insurance company, it was stolen from his facility. He just kept repeating...."I'm sorry, you need to call your insurnace company, your bike was stolen" I go to the dealership, ask to speak with the GM and again ask him if he is sure my ATV was stolen. He says that yes, it appears that it has been stolen. I ask if he had a break-in....has he filed a police report? He says no to both questions and again repeats that I need to call me insurance company. I immediately call the police and file a report....which i also feel they should have done.....contact the finance company...who says they should call their insurance company. I call GM on tuesday, ask him to file a claim with his insurance company. He says he will talk to the Owner....calls me approximately one hour later and says that they will NOT make a claim on my ATV because they don't know what happened to it. He did not physically see it there, so how does he know that it was.....for over a week they told me it was at their other facility....now it is stolen!?! They don't even know when they lost it!! I do NOT recommend any one leave your bikes with them....if the GM doesn't see it....it wasn't there!
