Bleeding dual front atv brakes?

I have a honda 300ex with two front disk brakes. I had them removed to replace pads and unbolted fluid lines. I have bleed brakes before but its taking a long time to bleed. I pump brakes, hold the brake, open nut, close the nut and then pump again. It is a bit harder than to pump than before but still is not firm. Any ideas
