Default How often should I change the oil of my ATV?

I have a 2006 Yamaha Big Bear (400 engine). I haven't changed it since I bought it, but I don't drive it that much - compared to my car. I drive it maybe once a month - maybe not even that. I know for the car I change every 3 month or 3,000 miles. But with a smaller engine in the ATV, I'm thinking I don't have to change that often. Sometimes I ride it hard, but not every time. Thanks for any answers!

That is the general rule, but not a definite. Newer cars are now coming out with 5000 miles. People I know that are mechanics try to stick with the 3000 or 3 month. My Dad and boyfriend included.
