ATV (4-wheel, A.K.A a quad) questions? It's for my 11-year old son.?

MY 11year old son (12 in december) wants a quad, possibly as an early birthday present. He's been really wanting one before. HE have no experirance regaurding quads, except when he was about 5 or 6 he rode on the back of one. He does ride bikes very well if that helps.

I need help finding a good type/brand of quad for him, and possibly some lessons. All help is appriacted!

P.s. We live in New Jersey
P.s.s. I just remeber we do have an ATV/moterbike store near us, do you think they could help us with thurther questions or possibly a lesson in safty if we buy from there? It's a yammah store.

Did you hear? A father bought his 9 year old son a quad bike for christmas (the 2007 christmas) and they went to take it out for a drive and his dad was in a pick up and they went around a corner and BAM. His son was splattered everywhere as it got hit ** a lorry at 50 mph. The father committed suicide the next week after he was convicted ** the police for for manslaughter. As they thought he tried to kill her on purpose.

So i'd think about it if i were you.

My dad got me a Yamaha Blaster when I was 13 (I am 15 now) I still have it it is a nice quad. but i would look in to 90CC quads. There are Orv (Off-Road vehicle) classes given ** your state fish and game warden officers at one of there offices look there for the Orv test. also do you have any experience riding quads/dirt bikes? You could also get information at your local ATV dealer ship. Hope this helps you.
