Where will I find the VIN number on a 2001 Honda Recon 4-Wheeler?

I have lost the original registration paperwork and need to go to DMV and get the title re-issued. But I can't find the dang VIN number on the 4-wheeler.

VIN numbers are going to be located under the front bumber or if you lift the 4wheeler on to the back wheels it may be ingraved in one of the frame rails.

Standing in front of the quad, looking at the front bumper.
To the rear of the bumper, is a flat piece of steel, welded between the left & right frame rails.
It's difficult to see the numbers.
Either use a flash light and mirror, or lay a piece of paper over the numbers and rub a pencil on the paper to make an etching.
