Default I'm getting a clicking sound while trying to start my ATV. Bad battery?

The engine cranks, but doesn't fire. The clicking sound is intermittent.I put it on a trickle charge for a few hours yesterday...until it the charger showed that it was in the green (finished). I tried to start it, but basically got the same result.

It could be a weak battery, take the battery and get it load tested. It could also just be corrosion on the battery terminals, dirty connectors at the starter/solenoid.Make sure all connections are clean and the battery has a full charge.A TRICKLE CHARGER WILL NOT GIVE YOU AN INDICATION OF BATTERY CONDITION,EVEN IF THE GREEN CHARGE LIGHT SHOWS "ok"YOU MUST HAVE THE BATTERY LOAD TESTED OR IF IT NOT A SEALED BATTERY THE CELLS CAN BE TESTED FOR SPECIFIC GRAVITY WITH A BATTERY HYDROMETER

Check the fluid level in the battery if it is low it will show a full charge on the charger but it will not have enough power to to start your ATV. Also if the battery was exposed to freezing conditions over the winter the battery may have white spots that you can see through the battery case(if it isn't a black case) this means the battery has sulfite deposits and it is no good replace battery.
