So, I came to ******* Answers looking for help, this is what my question said:
Im trying to plan a fundraising event on a low budget, how can i do it? Temptation Racing wants to plan a Fundrasing Event. But we have a very low budget. Around $200. Any ideas? Any help? 10% of all money earned is donated to Central Valley Childrens Hospital and The Make-A-Wish Foundation Then I got some sassy answers, So I wrote this: *We only donate 10% to those 2 foundations becuase RACING IS NOT CHEAP! You try owning a race team! Its not easy! We have 5 riders and only 2 are sponsored. So we have to deal with 3 un-sponsored riders! Its not cheap, especially when sponsorships dont do much! Then I got more sassyness so I wrote this: * ITS NOT A FUNDRAISER FOR CHARITYS! ITS A FUNDRAISER FOR OUR RIDERS!!! BUT 10% OF WHAT WE GET WE ARE GOING TO GIVE TO CHARITYS!! WE ARE NOT DIRECTLY PUTTING 90% INTO OUR POCKETS! IT IS GOING TO HELP OUR UN-SPONSORED RIDERS!!!!! I need HELP!!! I need real advice on how to help our riders, I dont want to disappoint them and tell them, to bad you cant race! Weve tryed SO MUCH! and were barely holding on ** a thread! |

I would have to ask why it is your responsibility to help these riders if they are not sponsored. Most unsponsored riders have to find their own way and are expected to fund it themselves.
As a parent of a rider who is funding much of his racing with sponsored help I would say it was up to either the riders themselves or if young their parents to find a way of obtaining help. If you cannot afford it don't do it! Unless the riders are winning almost everything they enter then you will have trouble getting any help other than discount off of usables parts and maintenance. Most people would look at attempts to raise money with fund raisers as something they would not bother with as they more than likely have someone in their own lives who is trying to live some sort of dream whether it be golf, football, racing or whatever and would be reluctant to fund someone elses without some specific reason. Basically I can understand why people have been giving you unkind answers as you think you are the only one who is struggling. Our family maintains 3 race bikes and has to get our son all over a very large country to race. Imagine the entry fees for three sections not to mention the petrol just to get there. Most everyone needs help and I am not trying to be unkind just telling you why everyone has probably answered in a negative way. |
