Default would the 1998 ford explorer V6 be able to pull a heaviey trailer with 3 4 wheelers on it????

hi there!
would a 1998 ford explorer V6 be able to pull a heavie trailer with 3 or 4 ATV's (400cc's and up) without anything happending to the tranny? or should i jsut get a V8 1998 ford explorer???? what would better for me. (dont really care about the gas) thanks have a good one !

I think that the V6 model is enough, but on the other side, V8 is better as you told that the gas doesn´t matter. ;D

Personally i would got a V8 but a V6 should be able to do it but not as well as the V8 because the V8 has alot more horsepower.

I have pulled a trailer with a car on it with a v6 ranger before so I am sure it would do it. The Explorer probably does not have the stiff suspension of the Ranger though so you should look into the tow capacity ratings. If gas is not a concern you might as well get the v8, it would pull it a little easier. Or if you only plan to pull that trailer once in a while the v6 would probably do it.
