I heard that whether you are above or below sea-level can have an effect on your carburetor. Is there a big enough difference between Pennsylvania and North Carolina that I would need to modify the carburetor on my Yamaha Blaster?

carburetors adjusted to run at sea level from the factory, and are lean enough to perform well to 3000 to 4000 feet. if you're going to run exclusively at an altitude above 4000, you'll need a smaller main jet. there should be a chart in your owner's manual to tell you what altitude calls for what jet. temperature can have an effect like altitude too.
