Default Is collision and comprehensive insurance mandatory for financed motorcycles?

I know they are mandatory for autos but motorcycles don't cost nearly as much as cars. I could theoretically charge a motorcycle on my credit card and leave it uninsured but then I would be stuck with a high balance that could hurt my credit score. It just doesn't make sense to pay up to $3000 a year for insurance on a motorcycle that costs less than $8000 to begin with. Is it possible to finance a motorcycle without comprehensive or collision coverage?
