Digital replacment speedo for FZR 1000?

I just got my new bike a 94 FZR 1000.The bikes in good shape but the speedo is dead.I checked the cable and it looks ok so am thinking its a problem within the gauge.I checked out some used clusters on EBAY and they are pretty expensive.I have been thinking of getting an LCD digital speedo as a replacement,it comes out a lil cheaper and would give a more accurate reading.Anyone have any experience with them? If so any particular brand/model thats worked well for you?
Been looking at Veypor kit,didn't see anywhere if its rain-proof!
