Is my dad's harley faster than a ducati 1098?

I am not familar with mototcycles at all!!

My Dad said, "that that italian crap can't even compare to real american metal" After that he picked up another 12 pack and rode off.

Which is faster....A Harley or a ducati 1098

A stock harley big twin put out about 70hp

A ducati 1098 put out about 130hp and weight half of a harley.

Cruisers, including Harley's, are actually quite a bit faster than sport bike owners might think. I was putting around town on my little Kawasaki Ninja the other day when my friend decided to come into town and show me his bike. He had a Suzuki Marauder 800cc and he gave me a ride on the back of it (as well as let me drive it around ** myself) That thing had some power! When he was driving me on it he layed that throttle open and i about flew off the back of the bike! So I would say that the best answer woudl be that it depends on what model of Harley. Cause cruiser's can book it if they feel like it! (sport bikes ftw with up to 70mpg)

Harleys are American-made so they're probably faster.
