Default Why is my motorcycle battery dead ?

A few years ago, maybe two, my bike sat for a year, wouldn't start, so i bought a new battery worked great. Now a couple of weeks ago i took the bike out (battery worked fine and everything) maybe went for a 100 mile round trip ride. 50 to destination, break for a bit 50 back. Now I tried starting up my bike today and for some reason it was completely dead. The lights wouldn't come on or anything. I jumped it from my car and shut it off after about 5-10 mins of running to see the results but yet it was still dead. It has been raining a lot around here lately and it's stored outside under a cover. Could this make my battery dead or is there another solution? I figured I would just buy a new battery but i don't understand since I suppose a 2 year old battery is rather new and since it started up fine before this long ride. I think it' the liquid kind of battery and i haven't checked that but could that be a possibility too? Any suggestions would be great, as I don't wanna buy another bat
But why would it work fine to start up my bike like 2 weeks ago, now all the sudden it's dead? ( after the long ride?)

A lead acid battery loses it's longevity if it is stored uncharged. You must periodically charge the battery through the winter to keep the battery from going dead. On my jet ski, I usually leave the battery charger attached all winter in "trickle" mode.

Sorry, that the way it is. You gotta buy a new battery. They are cheapest at WalMart.
