The figure given on the Sidewall of Tyres is the Maximum SAFE LOAD Pressure, not the normal Running Pressure!
My tyres state 41lbs Max but normal running pressure is around half this. Stick to the recommended pressures only. Over inflation wears the middle of tyre quickly, and under inflation wears the outer edges of tyre even quicker! |

your right kind of... the air pressure will vary between drivers weights what its on and how one drive it... is something one has to watch for ** tire wear i go with something in between max and whats recommended the test is done for a driver of a set weight so what company recommends is only just that a recommended pressure if your fat you need more air in the tires than a skinny person....all tires are made for many types of uses be it bikes or cars or trucks and they vary... max and recommended pressures on any tire is just a recommended pressure its up to the owner to know how any tire wears and how much or less they need sorry im a tire guy 35 yrs... its the driver who has to adjust for conditions of the roads and weather and tire wear and for 35 yrs ive run max or close to it but then i know how i drive and how to look for wear signs and i know how to adjust air to get the most out of my tires
