IS High-quality, 1.2-1.4mm full-grain matte leather reliable?

I bought a leather jacket made from High-quality, 1.2-1.4mm full-grain matte leather. I've scraped the ground with cow leather and it held up damn good, but what about matte leather? Are they reliable?
