There is no "real" way to tell if the bike has always been ran with 91 (or 93 where I live), or to tell if it was broken in correctly. There are only a few real things you can do when purchasing used. One, ask to see the service interval reports, to see if the full tune-up was done at about 500 or 600 miles, and then regularly after that. Two, do a good visual inspection of the bike for scratches, scuffs, bent items, to tell if the bike was laid down. ( A laid down bike is rarely worth messing with, in my opinion.) Also, ask to test ride the bike, most wont let you, but some will. If a test ride is no go, ask to be ridden on the bike, if still no, find a different one. A person hesitant to even ride you on it, is shady. And really after you do that, all you can go on, is the seller's character. A buddy of mine got an amazing deal on a GSX-R600 from a 40 year old guy that rode it less than 1700 miles in two years, had the records, and got a free Rocket helmet in the process. The same bike from a 19 year old wildcat might not be worth looking at. Thats what I would do, and be careful once you get it, litrebikes are nuts!!! Be safe, wear gear, and I'll see you on the road next season, mines heading up for the winter, getting a little too cold for our taste.
