Do you need a license to ride a vespa scooter in Italy?

so if you never been to italy and want to ride a vespa GOOD LUCK in roma their is NO speed limit riders do and go as fast as they want it's not organized like England remember you are in Latin country so take the bus it's faster and safer at least in town

Jeez I hope not. If there is a license law, it's un-Italian. When I think of all those Italian girls riding scooters, with their skirts blowing up over their heads, wow I can't imagine a law against that.
