is it ok to remove a spark arrestor from a 07 yfz450 stock exaust?

i have a 07 yfz450 and i was just wondering if it was safe to remove my spark arrestor. i dont want it to harm my motor or anything.

The minuscule amount of power that could be gained would not be worth the effort.
