2003 suzuki gz250 making a clunking noise?

can really pin point it but i think its coming from the cylinder head area or the clutch area i tryed putting a screw driver on different parts of the motor but im still not sure where its coming from when i pull the clutch when its in idle the noise is quieter when its enguaged its loud and when im on the move its really loud and sometimes when i start it after its nice and warm it makes a single loud clunk/pop anyone have any ideas thank you
