"legal" tinted visors are freely available here in Oz, and most are tinted just enough to still pass the legality/registration test.. this may depend on the individual porkchop who's just pulled you over, (and how much trouble you're really in!) but generally they'll leave you alone. All this may vary 'cos you're in the UK so laws are different. search some Aussie websites (mcas.com.au, bikebiz.com.au, helmetwarehouse.com.au etc)

As far as I know, a 50% tint is the darkest you're allowed ** law and even then it will be marked "for daylight use only". Dark, mirrored etc. visors are illegal, wear sunglasses instead.

tinted visors are illegal but on sunny days the police usually turn a blind eye to it. alot of police use black visors themselves! so just go and buy one, the worst they can say is take it off
