Default how do i convince my mom to get me a jet ski if i

do real good on my report card? i love water craft, and all my friends at the beach have either big boats or jet skis. i have a small (like midget size) boat and it is so old, it stops on me sometimes. i really wnat a jet ski since of course a bigger boat is out of the question(they are sooooooooooooooooooooo expensive) my mom thinks that they are to dangerous, but none of my friends do anything dangerous and neither do i. what should i do?i meant at the end of the year, not this upcoming one( i am not that spoiled)

Why don't you offer to get a job and meet your mom half-way on the cost of the jet-ski, if you do well on your report card (which you're supposed to do anyway)? I think that would be a good compromise.

I feel so unequipped to answer this question. My teen is just trying to get me to buy him lacrosse gear.To me, this seems like an extaordinary gift (or even reward). However, I don't know what passes for "normal" in your family or community. I guess I'll just have to assume that your mom won't laugh hysterically for hours afterward. If something like this IS typical, it's probably going to be more about convincing your mom that you'll be responsible about using it. If you've been safe on the water up until now, you have that in your favor. Are there kids she knows are responsible that you can use as examples? Once she believes you won't act stupid and/or reckless on it, and she's OK with the expense, you should be home free. While you're at it, maybe you could ask her to buy me a nice Honda hybrid for my wife? :-)

You'r mother's objection that she considers them dangerous. No amount of better grades, wheedling or financal juggling will overcome that..It may be that you can convince her that you are a responsible person who is mentally equipped to handle a jetski... or she may know you better than that.
