they are deceptively large and will hang well off the end of your truck bed. additionally, some can be damaged underneath. whatever you do, be careful. you may be able to build a sort of wood side rail support into your pickup without too much difficulty and then use a really good strap to hold it in the bed of the truck. in the end, i'd prol' ask if you could use a trailer at a maintenance facility for a bit to save yourself from all kinds of possible problems, oh and did i mention they are heavy? loading, etc etc etc if you are an aries, disregard, just do it like i would do.
