Default Jet ski PWC maintenance question?

I have a '93 Yamaha Waverunner III (650cc), what kind of oil does my ski take? What is the reccomended maintenance? I am new to marine engines. Please help! I am very particular of keeping regular maintenance on anything I own.

I have a 1990 Waverunner...I use two stroke oil...and the mix is 50:1 gas to oil ratio...You might want to check with your local dealer/marina just to be safe...It also probably says somewhere on the jetski...Mine has the gas to oil ratio right near the gas cap...

buy the shop manual. preventitive maintanance is VERY important on PWC. the drivetrains are subject to severe duty and will wear premature if not properly maintained. all PWC are differerent, so the manual is your best ally.

I have a 99 Yamaha (750cc) and owned it since new. I use 2 cycle oil (Havoline) I get it at Mejiers or the autoparts store. Look at the specs, and I never had any problems. I change my spark plugs at the beginning and once in the middle of the season. You want to grease the jet drive and any othe greaser fitting. For the winter, start it up and make sure all the water is out, pull the battery and charge it monthly and put a cover on it. also take out the plugs and squire some two cycle oil in the hole and replace the plug . Then spray wd40 all over the engineDuring the season, after you put it on the trailer, start the engine and run out the water (5 seconds)
