price to fix a jet ski question?

I just bought a 97 XP sea doo jet ski.
it has a brand new motor, but it cuts out when on full trottle. You just take the key off n it starts back up again n runs for a little than does it again.
My friend who works on jet skis says its probably a computer problem

Anyone know roughly how much that could be?
