What is the best Jet Ski to buy?

I'm looking to purchase a used Jet Ski in the San Diego area and I need to know which ones to look for. I'm looking for a cheaper model in the 1993+ range. I've seen Sea Doos, Polaris, Tigershark, etc, but not sure which is best.

And I was wondering how I can tell if I'm getting one that is just garbage or is in good working condition.
