Why does my jet ski say "maintenance"?

Why does my jet ski say "maintenance"?

I have a 97' Sea doo bombardier and it has the digtal displays. When I turn it on it flashes "maintenance" at me, and the hazard light flashes a couple times. What does that mean? What kind of maintenance is it talking about? I looked through the book and it says nothing baout it.
