Default Is there an age requirement for driving a jetski in California?

i was just wondering because each year it seems to change. so i didnt know if there was an age requirement or if you have to have your lisence or if just a permit was ok.

Here is some helpful information for you:
California law requires a person to be 16 years of age or older to legally operate a vessel powered ** a motor of 15 horsepower or more, including personal watercraft (PWCs).

Exceptions to this law are:
Persons 12 to 15 years of age may operate a vessel powered ** a motor of 15 horsepower or more, including personal watercraft, if they are supervised on board ** a person at least 18 years of age.

Keep in mind each lake inforces these differently. Some lakes do not inforce and others do.
