Default how to fix a jet ski flooded engine?

i was on my jet ski and i did a tight turn so when i did my borther slid off the seat and when he tried to get back on he flipped it and i couldnt flip it back over. so when i go to shore the whole inside was filled with water to the top but i emptyed it and its still not starting. its been 3 days. when i try to start it it trys to but it still doesnt start . it tells me hi tempeture on the second day and it says maint. tell me some tips to try before taking it to the shop. thank you

Well first be shure there is no water in the oil. Nexr remove the plugs and crank it over to clean out all the gas in the cylinders.remove the carb(s) and check to see the flout are not stuck and floding the engine.

Rinse it thoroughly with fresh water if it flipped in salt water. Spray it well with WD 40 or some other water dispersant/corrosion preventer. Then get it to a mechanic as soon as possible as corrosion will begin quickly in places you don't want it (especially in the electrical system). Also, if the engine has swallowed any water, attempting to start it can cause a hydralic lock (water in the cylinders will not compress) and you can cause a lot of damage quite easily.
