What do you think should happen to someone who did not call 911 for a snowmobile accident?

My boyfriend was in a serious snowmobile accident last night, and he didn't come home until like 2:45a.m. and he did not know anyone who was in the house. His sled is totally fugded up, the track is going one way and the body is going the other way. My boyfriends boss, says they dropped him off cause one of his ski's came off.. I'm sorry, the left one didn't come off.. He didn't remember anything at all... His short term memory was gone.. His boss then lied to me and said he dropped him off an hour ago, then not five minutes later it turned into twenty minutes ago...
What do you think should happen?

You can't compel anyone to do anything pro-actively.

If you did... where would it stop?

Could your neighbor sue you for not seeing their kid, and stop them from getting hit ** a car?

Unless the boss caused the accident, he's not responsible for doing anything. Doing ANYTHING makes you liable. We only do good things for other people because we WANT to, not because we have to. In fact, if you try to help someone, you become liable if they get worse. People who perform CPR who aren't doctors are liable if they hurt the person!!! Crazy, I know, but that's how it is.

Actually, in California and many other states there is a thing called the Good Samaritain Law that says that someone trying to help another person who is injured can't be held liable if acting in good faith - and good faith is broadly applied. However... I agree with the first response. Worry about getting him medical attention.
